Planning Process
PlanIt supports service planning by combining service ownership, yearly planning data, budget entries, and assignments to orders or invoices.
Services and service options
The system contains services and service options. Every service is managed by a user. After logon, the default view shows only plan items for services managed by the signed-in user.
Create plan items
The first planning step is to add plan items. A plan item combines a service reference, a plan year, description text, and additional properties stored as JSON. Existing planned budget and charging data for the selected service is loaded automatically when it exists in the system.
Add topics
After a plan item has been created and selected, topics can be added. A topic belongs to exactly one plan item and receives a unique system-assigned numeric ID. The user enters a title and then records the planned spending after selecting the general ledger account cluster (GLAAccountCluster). A manufacturer can optionally be selected and stored.
Save and assign actuals
All changes are saved automatically. The final step is to assign orders and/or invoices to the plan topic. Assignments can be partial from 0-100% or entered as a EUR value. This allows one order or invoice item to be spread across multiple topics.
